WHEREAS, Roy Hutching is a dedicated and exceptional public servant who has diligently provided 28 years of outstanding service to the State of Nevada as a Nevada Highway Patrol Officer since 1980; and

WHEREAS, Roy Hutching has performed his duties as a Trooper with compassion and respect to all that he has come in contact with; and

WHEREAS, Roy Hutching has also displayed exceptional commitment and dedication to his country during his years of service in the military during Operation Desert Storm from November 11, 1990 through May 13, 1991, Operation Enduring Freedom from May 19, 2003 through November 15, 2003, and Operation Iraqi Freedom September 9, 2005 through December 20, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Roy Hutching created the Department of Public Safety patch that is worn by today’s Troopers; and

WHEREAS, Roy Hutching has demonstrated professionalism, patience and dependability in his work, earning respect from his colleagues and for his ability to consistently meet difficult challenges; and

WHEREAS, we commend Roy Hutch for his years of devoted and honorable service and extend our best wishes for a healthy happy and fulfilling retirement;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JIM GIBBONS, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 2, 2008, as a day in honor of
