WHEREAS, Janette M. Bloom, was appointed Clerk of the Supreme Court of Nevada on November 21, 1988, and served as Clerk until January 1, 2008, a period of time in which Nevada was the fastest growing State in the Nation; and

WHEREAS, during her tenure as clerk, Janette M. Bloom displayed exceptional commitment and dedication to the Nevada Supreme Court and the entire judiciary of the State of Nevada, working selflessly and tirelessly in furtherance of the cause of justice; and

WHEREAS, Janette M. Bloom was instrumental in developing and implementing innovative programs and policies designed to modernize and streamline practice and procedure not only in the Nevada Supreme Court but also in the lower courts of the State of Nevada, including case and document management systems, intranet and public websites, and electronic distribution of opinions; and

WHEREAS, since January 1, 2008 Janette M. Bloom has continued to serve the Supreme Court of Nevada by spearheading the effort to implement the electronic filing of documents; and

WHEREAS, Janette M. Bloom represented our State with distinction as President of the Association of Reporters of Judicial Decisions; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of all citizens of Nevada, we would like to thank and commend Janette M. Bloom for her many years of devoted and honorable service to our Silver State and wish her continued success in all of her future endeavors;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JIM GIBBONS, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, do hereby proclaim June 3, 2008, as a day in honor of
