WHEREAS, Michelle Kling started her health career in 1975, when she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Reno; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Kling joined the Washoe County District Health Department as a Public Health Nurse in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Kling became the Division Director of Community and Clinical Health Services at the Washoe County District Health Department in September, 2001 and will have served for close to seven years in this capacity; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Kling has worked throughout her career to inform the citizens of Washoe County about the importance of Public Health and services provided by the District Health Department; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Kling has provided leadership while serving on a variety of Public Health Committees and Boards including: Washoe County Access to Health Care Network Steering Committee; Governor’s Maternal-Child Health Advisory Board; Statewide Oral Health Advisory Committee and Northern Nevada Dental Coalition for Underserved Populations; Kids to Senior Korner Advisory Board; Clinical Adjunct Faculty University of Nevada, Reno, Orvis School of Nursing; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Kling is a scholar of the Great Basin Public Health Leadership Institute; and

WHEREAS, Michelle Kling has worked to provide access to health care for all residents of Washoe County; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of the residents of Washoe County, I sincerely thank you for your many years of service and wish you the best for a fulfilling retirement; and
