WHEREAS, the 101^st Airborne Division, more commonly referred to as the "Screaming Eagles," has compiled a distinguished record of service to our Nation from the great European campaigns of World War II and the siege at Bastogne, to more than six years of distinguished service in the Vietnam Conflict, and more recently Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operations Iraqi Freedom; and

WHEREAS, still serving as an active fighting force in defense of our great nation, the 101^st Airborne Division continues to uphold the best of American military traditions; and

WHEREAS, the 101^st Airborne Division has earned recognition numerous times throughout the years, including being awarded the first full divisional Presidential Unit Citation for gallantry in action; and

WHEREAS, the 101^st Airborne Division Association, comprised of both current members and veterans, is holding its 53^rd national reunion, and our great State of Nevada is proud to be their host;
