WHEREAS, Dr. Mary Brady Pierczynski, a dedicated and exceptional educator has provided 21 years of exemplary service to the Carson City School District, and to the children of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, the State of Nevada recognizes Dr. Mary Brady Pierczynski’s exceptional achievements throughout her career and commends her for her dedication to ensuring the highest quality education for the children of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski has been awarded the 2007 Distinguished Service Award, Friend and Advocate for Public Education by the Nevada Association of School Boards and was twice named the Superintendent of the Year for the State of Nevada by the Nevada Association of School Boards; she was also named the 2006 Superintendent of the Year for the State of Nevada by her peers the Nevada Association of School Superintendents; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski became the Superintendent of Schools for the Carson City School District in July, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski received her Doctor of Education, Educational Leadership, from the University of Nevada in December, 1994; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski has exhibited knowledge, an exceptional work ethic, unwavering integrity, dedication and commitment to the children of Nevada and to Public Education during her 27 year career in Education; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski has been knowledgeable and effective in advising the Nevada Legislature on educational leadership, and has helped to improve Nevada education policy; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski has assisted the Governors of Nevada in creating an effective education policy that has benefited all children of Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Pierczynski tirelessly and effectively used her exceptional leadership ability to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Carson City by serving in a leadership role for the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada, Eagle Valley Children’s Home, Partnership Carson City Anti Drug & Gang Coalition, The Carson City District Attorney’s Gang Coalition, The Rotary Club of Carson City, The Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce, The Carson City Senior Center, The Capital City Circles Initiative and The Carson City Community Counseling Center, and

WHEREAS, Mary has displayed exceptional commitment to the children of Carson City, the citizens of Carson City and to the State of Nevada and on behalf of the citizenry of the Silver State, I would like to commend her for her years of devoted, honorable, and effective service and wish her continued success in all of her future endeavors;
