Following the February 1, 2007 resignation of
Transportation Services Authority (TSA) Chairwoman Kimberly
Maxson-Rushton, Governor Jim Gibbons announced that current TSA
member Andrew Mackay will now serve as Chairman. Additionally,
Governor Gibbons announced the appointment of Las Vegas resident
Lesley Miller to the TSA. Miller will fill the vacancy left by
Maxson-Rushton.
Nevada’s Transportation Services Authority is responsible for
licensing and regulating limousines, buses, tow companies, and
intrastate movers of household goods throughout Nevada, as well
as taxicabs outside of Clark County.
“Nevada’s transportation industry continues to meet the demands
of our growing state, further emphasizing the importance of the
TSA,” said Governor Gibbons. “This agency not only ensures the
vitality of this important industry but it also provides
security to the hundreds of thousands of people that travel our
roads each day.”

Chairman of the Transportation Services Authority, I will work
diligently to ensure that the safety of the traveling public is
protected and that legal, certificated carriers are provided a
regulatory environment that will allow their businesses to
prosper. I am honored that Governor Gibbons has placed his
trust in me to lead this important agency into the future," said
Andrew Mackay.
Andrew Mackay served on Gibbons’ Congressional staff in 1997 and
1999. He was was appointed to the TSA in August of 2005
after serving as a partner in an advertising/public
relations firm.
“I
am honored by the opportunity to serve Nevada in this new
capacity. I look forward to encouraging good business practices
in our transportation industry, which will not only benefit the
many patrons but also the businesses involved,” said Lesley
Miller.
Lesley Miller received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English
Literature and a minor in Spanish from the University of
Michigan. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School.
