Governor gibbons names interim director of personnel

Carson City – Governor Jim Gibbons today named Mark Anastas Interim Director of Personnel for the State of Nevada, following the resignation of Jeanne Greene. 

Mark Anastas started his career with the State of Nevada in August 1998 as a personnel analyst in the Department of Personnel. He was promoted to Chief Personnel Manager in 2004, and is a graduate of the state-certified Public Managers Program.

Prior to his service with the State, Mark served 20 years with the Ohio Edison System, now known as First Energy, an electric utility company based out of Akron, Ohio.  Fifteen of the 20 years served with Ohio Edison were spent at the Pennsylvania Power Company (Penn Power), a subsidiary of Ohio Edison, based in New Castle, Pennsylvania.  There, Mark held the position of Manager of Personnel Relations, a position that reported directly to the president of the company.

Mark attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology.  A resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark is married, and has two daughters.
