Carson City –
Governor Jim Gibbons has recently made more than 160
appointments to various state boards and commissions. More than
nine hundred Nevadans serve in appointed positions on boards and
commissions, overseeing many important functions of state
government. Many appointments expired at or near the change of
the fiscal year on July 1st, and the governor
responded with a round of new appointments and reappointments.
“Nevada is blessed with a wealth of talented individuals who are
willing to serve their state at little or no cost to the
taxpayers. It is my pleasure to identify the people who have
the finest qualifications as well as a desire to serve the state
and to appoint them to appropriate boards or commissions. This
is one way in which I can provide Nevadans with the capable,
responsive and efficient government they deserve,”
said Governor Gibbons.
