governor gibbons requests that flags be flown at half-staff in observance of patriot day

Carson City – In observance of Patriot Day and remembrance of all those who lost their lives as a result of the devastating terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Governor Jim Gibbons requests that Nevada’s government buildings display the United States and Nevada State flags at half-staff tomorrow, September 11, 2007.

“I invite all Nevadans to lower their flags to half-staff in remembrance of September 11, 2001, a day that will forever remind us of the destruction and terror cast upon innocent American lives.  This day joins us together as a state and as a nation as we remain vigilant in our efforts to combat terrorism, so that future generations may live in a freer safer world,” said Governor Jim Gibbons.

At the request of President George W. Bush, a moment of silence will be observed beginning at 5:46 a.m. pacific daylight time to honor the innocent Americans and people from around the world who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
