governor appoints stacie truesdell to
the state taxicab authority

Carson City Governor Jim Gibbons today announced the appointment of Stacie Truesdell to the State of Nevada Department of Business and Industry Taxicab Authority where she will serve as Vice Chairman.

The state Taxicab Authority oversees, licenses and regulates all taxi companies and drivers in Clark County by establishing fares, allocating number of taxis and issuing drivers’ permits.

“Ms. Truesdell is well respected throughout the community and known for her dedication and strong work ethic.  The Taxicab Authority will be well represented with her service as Vice Chairman,” said Governor Jim Gibbons.

Stacie is a life-long Nevadan and resident of Las Vegas.  She attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Art as well as Government and Law.  Following her undergraduate studies, Stacie attended New York Law School where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Stacie is currently an associate attorney at Jones Vargas Law Firm in Las Vegas.

“As a regulatory body, the Taxicab Authority ensures that we have safe drivers on the streets of Clark County.  Ms. Truesdell’s legal background will serve as a valuable resource for the board,” said Business and Industry Director Mendy Elliott.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to apply my legal knowledge to helping tourism, and to the Taxicab Authority," Truesdell said.  "Anything we can do to provide the very best service to the Las Vegas visitor is something I am going to strive to do.”
