Governor Jim
Gibbons
today
announced
the
appointment
of Leonard
Fiorenzi to
the Eureka
County
Commission
to complete
the term of
Commissioner
Kenneth
Benson, who
is vacating
his seat.
“I’d like to
congratulate
Mr. Fiorenzi
on his
appointment,”
the Governor
said. “I’m
confident he
will be an
excellent
addition to
the Eureka
County
Commission
and do what
he believes
is best for
the citizens
of that
great
county.”
Fiorenzi has
a deep
knowledge of
county
government,
having
served as
the Eureka
County
public works
director for
more than 25
years. In
that
position,
Fiorenzi was
responsible
for managing
major road
and
construction
projects,
water and
sewer system
maintenance,
managing
budgets and
administering
grants.
Since his
retirement
in 2004,
Fiorenzi has
worked as a
part-time
consultant
for Eureka
County as a
building
construction
inspector.
“I’d like to

Governor
Gibbons for
having the
faith in me
to do a good
job for the
people of
Eureka
County,”
Fiorenzi
said. “I’m
looking
forward to
working with
the other
county
commissioners
to help make
Eureka
County an
even better
place.”
Fiorenzi
will be
sworn into
office prior
to the
scheduled
commission
meeting
Monday
morning, and
his
appointment
runs through
the
swearing-in
of a new
commissioner
elected this
November.
