governor appoints leonard fiorenzi to
eureka county commission

(Carson City, NV) – Governor Jim Gibbons today announced the appointment of Leonard Fiorenzi to the Eureka County Commission to complete the term of Commissioner Kenneth Benson, who is vacating his seat.

“I’d like to congratulate Mr. Fiorenzi on his appointment,” the Governor said. “I’m confident he will be an excellent addition to the Eureka County Commission and do what he believes is best for the citizens of that great county.”

Fiorenzi has a deep knowledge of county government, having served as the Eureka County public works director for more than 25 years. In that position, Fiorenzi was responsible for managing major road and construction projects, water and sewer system maintenance, managing budgets and administering grants.

Since his retirement in 2004, Fiorenzi has worked as a part-time consultant for Eureka County as a building construction inspector.

“I’d like to thank Governor Gibbons for having the faith in me to do a good job for the people of Eureka County,” Fiorenzi said. “I’m looking forward to working with the other county commissioners to help make Eureka County an even better place.”

Fiorenzi will be sworn into office prior to the scheduled commission meeting Monday morning, and his appointment runs through the swearing-in of a new commissioner elected this November.
